II. External services
1. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We have agreed an order processing contract with Google and, when using Google Analytics, we implement the strict requirements set out by the German data protection authorities in full.
Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer to enable analysis of your use of the website. The information obtained from cookies about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA, where it is stored. However, since we have enabled IP address anonymization on this website, your IP address will first be truncated by Google in European Union member states and in other countries which are contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to perform other services for the website operators that are linked to the website or internet use. Our legitimate interest in data processing is also applicable for these purposes. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Section 15 para. 3 of the TMG [Telemediengesetz: German Telemedia Act] and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data sent by us, and linked with cookies, usernames (e.g. user IDs) or promotional IDs, is automatically deleted after 14 months. The deletion of data, which has reached the end of its storage period is done automatically once a month.
The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of the Google Analytics process will never be combined with other data from Google. You can configure your browser software to prevent cookies from being saved. However, it is important to note that this may result in you not being able to make full use of the functionality offered by this website. In addition, you can prevent Google from capturing data created by cookies relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) and stop Google from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available from the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
More detailed information on this is available at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de and also at https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/us/ as well as https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en (general information on Google Analytics and data protection). Please note that on this website the Google Analytics function “gat._anonymizeIp();” has been added to ensure that IP addresses are captured in anonymised form (so-called IP address masking).
This website uses the Google Analytics “demographic characteristics” function. This allows the creation of reports containing information on the age, gender and interests of website visitors. This data originates from interest-related advertising from Google and visitor data from third parties. This collected data cannot be attributed to any specific individual person. You can disable this function at any time via the ad settings for your Google account, or you can prevent Google Analytics from capturing your data in general by using the browser plugin referred to above.
2. Google Maps
We use the Google Maps API for the visual display of geographical information. By using Google Maps, information about your use of the website (including your IP address) can be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Google will potentially pass on the information obtained from its Maps to third parties, if this is legally prescribed or if a third party is processing this data on Google’s behalf.
Google will not link your IP address with other data from Google. Nonetheless, it would be technically feasible for Google to identify individual users based on the data it receives. It is possible for website users’ personal data and profiles to be used by Google for other purposes over which we have no influence.
You can disable Google Maps, thus preventing the transmission of data to Google, by disabling JavaScript in your browser.
By using this website and not disabling JavaScript functionality, you explicitly declare, in full awareness of the problem relating to data privacy legislation, that you consent to data about you being processed by Google in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose.
